Farewell

DM

Daniel Mathys went into his well-deserved retirement at the end of March 2025 after more than 40 years.

Dani started his career at the Biozentrum as a laboratory technician and soon after became acquainted with electron microscopy in the "REM-Labor" at the Bernoullianum. With his experience and expertise in electron microscopy, he has not only made a significant contribution to science over the years, but has also inspired countless students and PhDs with his work. In particular, his dedication to coloring microscopic images has made him a top scorer at Image Awards and has repeatedly put him and his artwork in the spotlight.

We would like to thank him from the bottom of our hearts for his friendly and helpful manner and wish him all the best, happiness and many fulfilling moments in the next phase of his life.
